Blue.

Blue visits Midtown for both grooming and boarding, and is known around the shop for being the most relaxed, well behaved, and gentlemanly pup there is.

Blue is an eleven year old sheltie who was adopted from the Houston Sheltie Sanctuary at age six. His previous owners were ending their marriage and could no longer care for him. We are all so thankful that they contacted the Sheltie group, because he is by far the sweetest and smartest sheltie that his parents have ever owned!

We believe that if Blue were a human, he would resemble an actor from an old black and white musical. You know, the dapper black tuxedo with a top hat and cane, the proper grammar and smooth voice, and of course, the handsome eyes that stare right into your soul. Blue is an older gent, so he has none of that rowdy romping in the back yard. Instead, he prefers lounging on his giant pillow, cuddling up on a staff member’s lap during his favorite spoil sessions, and monching on his favorite treats - baby carrots!

Blue is a big time snuggler. Which is amazingly awesome for whoever is doing the snuggling, because his beautiful silver and white super fluffy coat makes Blue as soft as a very squeezable snuggle-able pillow. In fact, snuggling and baby carrots are probably his top two most favorite things in the world. He is always keeping an eye out for a spare hand to either give him a pet or half of a little baby carrot. It is really unbelievable how much he loves those orange veggies!

Blue also loves going for long strolls through the neighborhood, and gets so very excited when he sees children because he knows he will be pet if he sits like a good boy. However, off leash, Blue can get a bit out of control. I know, I know, hard to believe, right? Off leash he constantly wants to herd all of the children (the sheep), which can be a bit trying when his mom is trying to carry on a conversation with their parents... (hahaha, awesome.) If you really want to agitate the little fellow, just bring out a hammer, tape measure, and a ladder to work on a project. It is unbelievalbe how much he hates that trio!

That being said, his mom would not trade him for any other dog, and neither would we. Again, he is by far the sweetest and smartest sheltie his owners have ever had, and the most relaxed and gentlemanly dog Midtown has ever seen! He found Midtown because of our convenient location to home and his vet just down the road. We are so glad that Blue found our little shop, because bath time and snuggles just wouldn’t be the same without him!
