Bath

We offer bath services for both DOGS and CATS.

Our specialized Hydrosurge Bathing system massages shampoo right down to the skin. Afterall, it's down there that all of that stinkiness originates!

After the bath, each animal is towel dried and then hand-dried with our "non-heated" blow drying system.

In addition, all baths include ear cleaning, nail trimming, and anal gland expression. We automatically express the anal glands on all dogs smaller than a Lab.

**(The general public is generally unaware of the the necessity to have their dog's anal glands expressed. Failure to have it done can result in ruptured glands, a wounded dog, and a very stinky situation. Let us do it, so that you never have to think about it! )

Midtown's basic bath service uses a cleansing, lemon-deoderizing treatment that will leave your animal feeling refreshed and smelling devine.

Shampoo Upgrades

Upgrade your baby's experience with a specialty treatment....

Flea treatments offer an effective way to combat your immediate pest problem. We use a Pyrethrin mixture, which is safe for both pets and parents.

Custom Color by Laura Leigh ~ request an "orange" poodle for gameday or a purple mowhawk for your next party. Laura Leigh offers custom color for any occasional. Our color treatments are vegetable-based and non-toxic.

Teeth Brushing ~ $10.oo

Pamper Time Walk ~ $15.oo (with groom) ~ While all groom dogs are automatically potty-walked during their stay at Midtown, a "pamper-time walk" is an extended 15 minute jaunt with our dog walker through our Clarksville neighborhood. Dog must be leash trained.

De-Skunk ~ Base price + $20 (small dog), + $30 (medium - large dog)

(** please note ~ the effectiveness of the de-skunk treatment depends on the amount of time the chemical has been absorbing into the skin and the range from which the skunk sprayed the dog. Our skunk treatment includes 3 specialized soaks and does not guarantee total elimination of the smell. Some clients board their dogs at Midtown while the scent diminshes so that their homes do not start to smell. It is difficult to get the skunk smell out of carpet and furniture! **)

Nail Painting ~ $10.oo ~ Take your baby's paw-di-cure to a new level with some flashy, pet-safe nail polish!

Walk-In Nail Dremmel ~ $20.oo (dremmel with groom is $5.oo)

** For safety reasons, dremmeling may not be available for some long-haired breeds.

In - And - Out Service ~ $15.oo additional ~ We offer an "In And Out" service for special needs pets. This is a rush service that requires advanced booking. It is ideal for geriatric and anxious pets. Your pet will be bumped ahead of other pets and worked on, upon arrival, until completion. We call as soon as the animal is ready to go! The turn around time, depending on the breed and service requested, can still be a few hours. However, you can rest easy knowing that your baby is being given immediate attention and is not sitting in a kennel.

Groom

We offer grooming services for both DOGS and CATS.

Our grooming services include the bath, nail trimming, ear cleaning and your specified haircut ~ be it a tidy-up trim, a standard breed cut, a utilitarian shave down, or an under-coat removal for shedding, we will groom your dog to your liking and our groomers will have your pet looking fabulous!

Breed Standards ~ Our groomers are experienced in the classic cuts for just about every breed imaginable. We can accomodate everyone from Bichons and Poodles, to Schnauzers, Portuguese Water Dogs, and everything in-between.

Tidy Ups / Partials/ Silhouettes ~ when your pup just needs to cleaned up. We will trim the face, feet and tail and comb your dog so that she looks amazing. A silhouette will show off your breed's shape and accentuates the features that make her so beautiful!

Shave - Downs ~ When everything must go! It's 105 degrees out and your Golden Retriever has had enough! When you ask for a shave down, that's exactly what your little animal will get.

(** Please note... After a shavedown, we cannot not guarantee that your animal's coat will return the with the same texture, color, or quality. A small percentage of shavedowns may result in shocked follicles and the fur does not grow back the same! Midtown Grooming is not responsible for such cases. Please think before shaving your animal and always consult your groomer first!)

Under Coat Removal ~ Hands-down...our most effective de-shed program! Have your pet's dead undercoat (the source of all that shedding!) removed with an intensive conditioning soak, which will loosen the underlying fur, followed by cool-blow-out. You will go home with 1/2 the dog you came in with. No more tumble weeds of fur blowing through your living room! This is an ideal service for anyone who wants to maintain the beautiful look of their breed-coat while relieving him from the discomfort of that thick, extra fur. This service is a wonderful alternative to shaving your dog! Some owners come in once a month for a Coat Removal, some come in twice a year. We recommend doing it as often as you see fit. You will notice that your dog's regular bath treatments are even more effective, done in between coat removal treatments.

(** please note ~ occasionally a dog's coat is found to be inconducive to the coat removal process. In such cases, we will call the owner and recommend the furminator treatment).

Furminator ~ a de-shed treatment which uses a specialized bladed brush. You have been brushing at home, but nothing seems to put a dent in that coat! The furminator treatment is much more effective! We recommended the furminator for animals with coats that cannot be blown out with a "Coat Removal".

Midtown Grooming Policies

Matted Fur : Severe mats will not be combed out due to the discomfort and/or pain that it can cause to the animal. Our groomers comb-out mats at their discretion. Groomers will decide whether mats are too severe to be brushed out. Such mats will be shaved. We do not leave mats on animals as it can lead to sores on the skin. Midtown Grooming is not responsible for conditions revealed under matted fur or caused as a result of matted fur. Matted fur may cause irritated skin, sores, and other adverse conditions. Matted fur causes the skin to be more sensitive to grooming blades and, because the skin has not been able to "breath", may result in a rash once uncovered. Our strict dematting policy put a pets' health and comfort above cosmetics and aesthetics, when necessary. It is our effort to promote the ongoing health and comfort of all pets at our shop.

Ear Plucking Policy : Our groomers pluck ears at their discretion. We will not pluck impacted or infected ears. Animals with adverse ear conditions will be referred to their veterinarian.

Flea Policy : In order to keep a flea-free facility, all animals found with fleas will be treated immediately, at owner's expense, either by Capstar Pill or Flea Bath. Neither treatment is a long-term preventative and should be followed by a topical treatment after 24 hours.

Cats : For safety reasons, we wrap cats feet for bathing and grooming. For this reason, we do not shave cats' entire legs/feet. Our groomer prefers that cats NOT be sedated. If sedation is necessary, it must be pre-arranged with our cat groomer. For safety reasons, our cat groomer reserves the right to refuse a cat groom at any time during the process. All cats MUST arrive in a carrier.

Vaccine Requirements : All dogs must be current on vaccinations (rabies, bordatella, dhlpp). All cats must be current on vaccinations (rabies, fvrcp, feline Leukemia). No exceptions.

Spay / Neuter : Dogs do NOT need to be spayed/neutered to receive grooming services. We DO require spay/neuter for boarding and daycare.
